Projects
Greenworks
Greenworks is a distributed environmental research and development network that amplifies the work of local teams, including classrooms, research groups, and community initiatives. We offer a shared mission-based project design framework, teacher training in project-based learning, exchange opportunities, and connections to technical collaborators who support the development of low-cost instrumentation. Together, these supports enable teams to deepen their impact, strengthen community connections, and collaborate globally.

Agavi
Agavi is an adaptive learning platform we are designing for smartphones that enables teachers to build innovative new experiences for their students working in low resource, field, and lab settings. Teachers will be able to create non-linear activities, track where their students are and how they’re progressing in an activity, and interface with the real world via location and sensors to allow for novel activities where the phone acts as an agent in its environment rather than a portal to cloud content.

Sustainable States
Sustainable States is a role-playing curriculum we are developing for teaching geosciences, governance, and sustainability. Students in this experience role-play as leaders of various nations, learning the constraints under which nations operate while addressing sustainability issues. Additionally, teachers who adopt the curriculum undergo teacher training so that they can implement game-based learning in other courses that they teach.
